"The attacks that took place fifteen years ago in New York and Washington DC have shown us, that our way of life was and is still in grave danger. Ground-Zero is not only a hole in the skyline of Manhattan, but also a hole in the hearts and souls of every American citizen and a hole in the hearts and souls of every liberty loving people abroad.", said today the president of the United States of America, Joshua J. Mason, in presence of the police commissioner, the Mayor and the citizens of Los Santos. After the emotional speech by the head of state the delegation visited the local cemetery of Los Santos to pay tribute to our national heroes, who lost their lives on September 11th 2001. "It was a proper ceremony.", reported a journalist of Weazel News exclusively for Los Santos Times. "The president found the right words and phrases to describe our pain and sorrow." The political issues in San Andreas are very present. The unemployment rate increased by 3% to worrying 13% compared to last year (source: Department of Labor of Los Santos). Furthermore the workers of Los Santos Transit are protesting for the third time this year. Despite of the known issues, the president's appearence soothed the pressing problems for a day. However, this day the polticians did not meet to discuss political problems, but to show their respect to our victims and our heroes, who lost their lives on that tragic day.
"We shall never forget, that our freedom and our way of life was once again threatened by ignorance, fear and aggression, which sums up in evil. We shall never forget, that over three thousand lives have been lost. But, did they achieve their victory? Absolutely not! There is no doubt in the fact, that this deliberate and treacherous attack on September 11th 2001 has strengthened us as one people. I can assure you, that no matter how hard and devastating they hit us, our democracy will never fail and our nation will never waver." - Joshua J. Mason. |
